Some easy walks that we did around Pureora on the weekend of 10-11 September 2005. This area was the site of protest action in the 1970s which succeeded in preventing this forst being felled for timber. The protesters built huts in the trees and remained there to prevent felling.
This area now has abundant bird life, including the very rare North Island Kokako.
